Runaways

Meriah Crims has never been one to turn down a job. After she steals an expensive artifact, her actions drag two unlikely partners into life on the run. Between magic, monsters, and mercenaries, the simple job becomes life-or-death; and the mysteries of the artifact slowly come to light.

That someone would pay her such a fortune for an easy job was astounding. A quick in-and-out to steal some dusty old artifact couldn’t be hard at all.

At least, that’s what Meriah thought. When her plans get derailed by a bloodborn, she enlists a captive mage’s help, aiming to get back on track.
But Lasher has other plans. To him, the payout is a perfect one-way ticket away from his past; and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to get away.
Between his plotting and her wit, Den– half-man, half creature, and watchdog of a mining encampment– soon finds himself implicated in a thread of crimes. Left with no other choice, he teams up with them, determined to reclaim his innocence.
The newly formed group narrowly escapes capture by the royal guard. With the king’s armies on alert, dangerous creatures prowling the wilderness, and more questions than answers arising from the mysterious artifact, they must overcome their differences to finish the job… or risk losing it all.
