The series of books about Banjo, the Service Dog, is a cartoon-illustrated book series designed for children in Kindergarten through Third Grade. Banjo is an Old English Sheepdog. This series of books follows the actual events and adventures of Bill Barnes' Service Dog, Banjo. These books tell the stories of Banjo's experiences with Bill and Dawn Barnes. Children and adults will enjoy following the adventures of Banjo and eagerly await the release of the next books to follow about Banjo, the Service Dog. This series of books is child-friendly and well-suited for schools, libraries, homes, and other educational settings.
Authors
Dr. Dawn Yvette Barnes has studied and worked in education for more than 30 years. She has worked as an interpreter for the Deaf. She has a PhD in Leadership with an emphasis on education. In her experience in education, she has worked with students from preschool through college.
William Richmond Barnes has worked in many different jobs throughout his life. He has been disabled for several years. He has two associate degrees in education, an associate degree in Native American Studies, a bachelor’s in business management, and a master’s in Christian studies. He is currently working to complete his PhD in Leadership with an emphasis on History. He enjoys playing bluegrass, gospel, and country music. He has written 150 songs, plays guitar and harmonica regularly. Banjo has been his service dog since 2017.
