Deciding whether or not to go to college is one of the biggest decisions one will make in their early adult life or even as an adult. Related to this decision is which college or university to attend and which field of study to enter. If this is a decision that you or your child/young adult is facing, then the Effingham Public Library has something on offer to help with that decision.
Representatives from Lake Land College, University of Illinois, Eastern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and more will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about their respective institutions. In addition to these institutions, representatives from Lake Land College's Effingham Regional Career Academy (ERCA) as well as Adult and Alternative Education will also be available.
This will be a low-stress, open house style event. Participants will be able to go from table to table and talk with representatives. This event is not only for soon-to-be high school graduates but for adults who are thinking about going to college, a trade school, or earning a GED. There’s something here for everyone.
