Author Melanie Holmes' statewide bucket list book "100 Things To Do in Illinois Before You Die" includes "hot spots" in the arts, entertainment, food, parks, culture, history, sports, and even geology. Holmes has tips for day jaunts, weekend trips, and weeklong excursions -- all just a road trip away! Join the fun as she shares insider tips. Plus, Holmes will present a segment she calls "Windshield Travel," for those with physical challenges.  


Melanie Holmes is a lifelong Illinoisan and travel enthusiast. Her hometown county is Kankakee, though she now resides in Will County. A graduate of St. Xavier-Chicago, she's written five nonfiction books, the first of which won a Global Media Award. When she's not writing, you can find her championing her favorite local history museums and promoting indie bookstores and libraries.
