Trade, Refresh, and Make a Positive Impact!

Join us for a fun, eco-friendly way to refresh your wardrobe, meet new people, and learn about the impact of fast fashion on the environment—plus discover actionable tips to make a difference!

The Sustainable Fashion Swap Is a laid-back event where everyone can bring their gently used clothing and accessories to trade with others. It’s a fantastic opportunity to find new pieces for your closet while keeping old items out of landfills.

How it works:

  1. Bring Your Clothes – Clean out your closet and bring items that are gently used but no longer spark joy. Think about those clothes that no longer fit or haven’t seen the light of day in a while.
  2. Browse and Swap – After you drop off your items, you’ll get a chance to browse through everyone else’s contributions. 
  3. No Pressure, No Money – There’s no cost to swap! The goal is to keep clothes circulating, reduce waste, and give everyone the chance to refresh their wardrobe without spending a dime.

Rules & Guidelines
To ensure the event runs smoothly, please follow these guidelines:

Items Not Accepted:
❌ Socks
❌ undergarments
❌ Items that are excessively worn or damaged

What to Bring:
✔️ Gently used, clean clothing and accessories in good condition
✔️ No money exchange – it’s all about swapping!
✔️ Please bring your own reusable bags to take home your new treasures.

The Suzette Brumleve Memorial Effingham Public Library is the public library of Effingham, Illinois. We have over 50,000 books, magazines, and audio-visual materials and an annual circulation of over 250,000 items. We also offer a wide variety of programs and services.
